Sturgis, LCPC, LPC, NCC Hi! My name is Toni C. Sturgis, LCPC and I am a therapist in Maryland. Never did I imagine being a therapist. My career began as a nurse in the army. I enjoyed being a nurse and helping the soldiers. Unfortunately, I lost some friends and it affected me. I was angry, sad and full of emotions. I had questions and wanted answers so that led me to further my education and become a Trauma nurse. Life happened so that did not work out for me. However, I later went back to school, completed a psychology course and the rest is history. I now worked with clients helping them navigate their issues associated with life stressors, incarceration, anxiety, stress, depression, mood swings, trauma and relationship issues. Also, because I am a military veteran, I work with a lot of military families. My counseling style is non-judgmental and open minded. I like to assist and guide clients as they take the steps to change the landscape of their mental health. In some cases a client may not need answers; they just may need to be listened to or validated and I understand that. I truly enjoy what I do and I love who I become to get here.
